Glazing Information for Sashlite Sealed Units
- Locate glass centrally in glazing aperture using glazing blocks, and secure with glazing sprigs/cleats/clips/pins at 150mm centres.
- Sashlite units to be bedded into low modular silicone; recommend Silfix U9 LMS supplied by Hodgeson Sealants (conforms to BS 5889 Type A and ISO 11600 classification G-25 LM).
- Front putty, using either Colourglaze, a plastic glazing compound supplied by Hodgeson Sealants, which is suitable for fronting double glazed units into factory coated softwood or hardwood frames, or frames coated with micro-porous paint OR Dry Seal, manufactured by Repair Care, which is a durable alternative to putty, designed for glazing windows and doors and has an excellent adhesion to timber, metal and glass.
- Alternatively, a front bead can be used which can be fixed with low modular silicone and glazing pins/staples.
